Ammolite Pendant

The outermost layer of fossilized ammonite shells, this ancient mineral is as rare as it is stunning. Most ammonites (sea-dwelling cephalopods much like the modern nautilus) date back to the late Pleistocene Era, some 70 million years ago.

While the entire fossilized shell is referred to as an ammonite, the delicate, thin layer, known for its iridescent hues of green, red, and purple, is referred to as ammolite, and can easily rub or erode away throughout the passages of time.

This stunning ammolite pendant is set in sterling silver, and displays brilliant green and red coloring.
